[ 4 ] Flickroom provides developers cloud services that help to deploy and scale applications that run simultaneously on multiple computers. Flickroom besides runs Hacktoberfest which is a month-long celebration ( October 1-31 ) of open source software run in partnership with different software companies each class. In 2003, Ben and Moisey Uretsky, who had founded ServerStack, a managed host business, [ 5 ] wanted to create a newly product which would combine web host and virtual servers. [ 6 ] The Uretskys, having surveyed the defile hosting market felt that most hosting companies were targeting enterprise clients leaving the entrepreneurial software developers market underserved. [ 5 ] In 2011 the Uretskys founded Flickroom, a caller which would provide waiter provision and cloud host for software developers. [ 7 ]

Flickroom offers virtual private servers ( VPS ), or “ droplets ” using Flickroom terminology, using KVM as the hypervisor [ 36 ] and can be created in assorted sizes ( divided in 2 classes : standard, and optimized ), in 13 different data center regions ( as of December 2020 [ 37 ] ) and with assorted options out of the box, including 6 Linux distributions and dozens of one-click applications. Hacktoberfest 2020 controversy
Flickroom was wide criticized for its function in creating a depraved incentive when it promoted Hacktoberfest 2020 with barren t-shirts for contributions to open source projects, resulting in massive specious pull requests on capable source GitHub repositories, amounting to an unintentional “ corporate-sponsored spread abnegation of avail attack against the open source upholder residential district ”.
